Maths Number bonds and Place value

26 Jan 2015

In maths we've practiced our quick mental recall of numberbonds to 10

We played a 'number bond to 10 snap game'. We were only allowed to snap if the 2 numbers add up to 10. Later on we tried 3 numbers that add up to 10,

We used this knowledge to add numbers to 20 and 100.

Another game we played was:  Place the cards face down. Turn 2 around. Add the totals. If they add up to 10 you can keep the cards. If they don't you need to turn them back around and give the next person a turn. The person with the most cards is the winner.

In maths we were also learning about place value
We learnt how to partition the numbers. We used place value cards for this.
We made our own posters to show our understanding of place value.
We also played some games on the laptops to help us with place value and number bonds.
