English - Fiction or Non-Fiction

30 Mar 2015

Fiction or Non-Fiction?

We had a look at a variety of books. We had to sort them into 2 piles, one for fiction and the other for non-fiction.

After we've sorted the books we put the key facts for fiction and non-fiction books into the correct columns on our posters.

Once we've finished with the above we added the titles of fiction and non-fiction books to our posters.

  A non-fiction book has a contents page.

In a non-fiction book the index can be found at the back of the book.
The words on the index page is ordered in alphabetical order.
This makes it easier for you to find a spesific word in your book.
The page number will be on the index page too.

Fiction books have colourful illustrations.

You can also find a blurb on the back page of a fiction book.

Sometimes you will find diagrams in non-fiction books.

Non-fiction books are full of facts.

There are sub-titles too in non-fiction books.

Fiction books are usually filled with fun, bright and colourful illustrations.

Can you find out on which pages you can read about a Police officer or a Fire fighter?
