Today we had a fantastic adventure at the East Reservoir Community Garden. Thanks to the great teachers and volunteers from the Wildlife Trust we had a tremendous time finding, looking at and naming a wide range of minibeasts and their various habitats. Many thanks to our enthusiastic and hands-on parent-volunteers! There was a fantastic tree house, used to observe birds on the reservoir. Searching in logs for mini-beasts, what do you think we found? Pond-dipping was fun. Everyone wanted a go! Can you remember what creatures we found in the pond? This photo shows something often found in ponds in spring-time. Do you know what it is? For most of us bush-bashing was a first! We found spiders, mites, ladybirds and many other insects. For some of us, it had been a long and exhausting day! Night, night!
