Key Information for Upcoming Events in Year 6 - Shaking Up Shakespeare & More
06 Mar 2023
Dear Parents/Carers,
Shaking up Shakespeare
Today we welcomed Anthony Glenn back to Handsworth for Shaking Up Shakespeare. After his ‘One Man Show’ this morning the drama workshop with our Year 6 children began!
We are looking forward to welcoming you into school to watch our live performance this
Friday 10th March and can now confirm the show will begin at
6pm. We would like children to return to school at 5.30 in order to prepare for the performance.
If your child is unable to attend the evening performance please let us know ASAP so we can ensure we have cover for the evening performance. Please note this will not affect their participation in the workshop and we understand family matters may have to take priority.
To give everyone a chance to see the show may we ask (where possible) that we keep to two audience places per child. If you would like more places please let your child’s teacher know in advance.
End of Year - we are planning a surprise for the children and we need some information from you. Please look out for an email regarding this tomorrow - and be discreet!
Design and Technology
As part of our Design and Technology topic, we are studying the topic ‘Come dine with me’ where we will be making a small meal which includes a starter, main and dessert. The recipes need to include a main ingredient of peppers, pasta and pineapple. The children will be researching and creating a recipe for
one part of the meal. The school will be providing the main ingredients and would like to request parents to support us in providing the remaining ingredients for your child’s chosen recipe which we will confirm nearer to the time. We will need these ingredients to be brought into school
w/c Monday 27th March.
Please keep a look out for further details regarding this Design Technology project.
If you are struggling to provide the ingredients and would like the school to support you with this then please speak to your class teacher who would be happy to accommodate.
