School Dinner


From September 2023, all primary school children are entitled to a FREE school meal.  This is being funded by the Mayor of London.

School meals are a great way to be sure your child is eating a healthy and well-balanced meal during the school day. Handsworth offers an excellent, wide variety of tasty school lunches every day of the week, including Caribbean, Asian, Mediterranean, and traditional dishes, so there is sure to be something for everyone's taste.  There is always a vegetarian option and the meat option is HFA certified Halal. Our kitchen has been rated by The Food Standards Agency as a level 5, which is the highest possible food hygeine rating. Our lunches consist of a main course and dessert, freshly baked bread, seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables or salad.  Our school meals meet the Government's rigorous nutritional standards, which have been put in place to make meals healthier and give children what they need to develop, grow and lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

Packed Lunches

Your child also has the option to bring a packed lunch into school if they prefer.  Please check the ingredients for nut products as we are a nut free school.

Please notify the school office in writing if you child has any food allergies.
