Week two - a round up

Dear 6JG,
It has been the strangest of two weeks. I have been thinking back to one of the last times we were all together – when this picture was taken (just over three weeks ago) on Wednesday 11th March, as part of Science Week!
Now we're coming up to the Easter holidays, I want you to treat it as such: relax, have fun with your families and talk to your relatives – whether they are near or far.
I know it's difficult when you're not allowed to go out and visit people or do all the things you are used to when you're not at school – I am struggling too! Not only am I missing all of you, I am missing trips to the cinema and the theatre; outings to the shops; visits to museums.
I am missing my family too. We usually have a big meal together on Easter Sunday followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. We then watch a film together while we eat the eggs we have found.
This year, we will still have a big meal (although we will all be in our separate houses); we will still have an Easter Egg Hunt (again, in our own gardens) and we will still watch a film while eating our eggs. The difference this year will be that we will communicate over the phone with each other.
What do you usually do at Easter?
Remember, there are lots of activities to keep you occupied over the holidays: you could read a book or comic for pleasure; watch a film and discuss it with your friends or family; play a board game or game of cards together; or introduce your family to silent ball, four square or another game you play with your friends.
I would also love it if you could record yourself reciting your poem (audio only - mp3) and upload it with a picture of yourself. After Easter, I'd like to post them all on the website!
You can also keep working on your Topic, Science and Art projects or try one of these activities.
Whatever you do, make sure you stay safe and look after yourselves and your families.
I would like to wish each and every one of you a happy holiday. I am looking forward to guiding you through the next term – whether it is online or in person!
