English - Friday 10 July

10 Jul 2020

This week, I will give you a different writing task each day.
How long you take on each task is up to you, but they are designed to help you think about your move to secondary school.

I would really like you to upload each piece so that I can read them.

Task five:
Today, I would like you to write a transition lesson for next year’s Year 6.

Your lesson can have a single focus - such as preparation, friendships, etc. or you can cover many areas.
What do you think would be useful to know? Use your own experience of how you are feeling, what you have learned so far and what else you would like to know.

Your lesson should contain at least four slides. You can use whatever app you want to create these - they can be in Word, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Press, it’s up to you.

Remember to think about:
  • Your learning objective (what skill are you teaching?)
  • The success criteria (what steps need to be taken to learn the skill)
  • Some teaching
  • An activity
  • Assessment (a short quiz to check everyone has understood what you have taught).
