Year 6 Production
05 Jul 2023
Dear Parents & Carers,
Our Year 6 Production is this Friday (07.07.23) and we are delighted with the children’s dedication so far. As you are aware, school is closed during the day on Friday for industrial action. Despite this, and in order to cause the least disruption possible, we have decided to go ahead with the production as planned.
The timings for the evening are as follows.
Time |
|
5.15pm |
All musicians arrive at the main reception. This additional time allows time to tune instruments and store them in position in the hall.
|
5.30pm |
All the other actors arrive at the main reception. Changing to take place in classrooms, other belongings to be stored in 3TC.
|
5.45pm |
Doors to the main hall open and parents/carers/audience can take their seats. To enter the hall make your way through the KS1 and Early Years playground to the entrance. As we did for residential and Shaking Up Shakespeare. 6MU are based mainly on the stage left with 6SN on the stage right (as you face it from the audience.)
|
6.00pm |
The show begins.
|
Approx. 7.15pm |
The show ends.
Parents leave the hall, walk through the KS1/EYFS playground and wait for the children outside the main reception.
Children will head back through the school to 3TC, collect their belongings and then be dismissed from the main reception by their class teachers. |
Costumes
Children should all leave their costumes in school. When they arrive at school they should be wearing their school uniform (this is part of the costume). Where possible we request that they leave their mobile phones at home. We have found in the past some of the children return to school in branded clothing – please remind them for the purposes of the play it is the 1940s and to keep their clothing appropriate.
Tickets
We are delighted to invite you into school to watch our Year 6s perform. To ensure we keep the performance at a safe capacity we have limited the tickets to 2 per child. They have been handed out to the children today (04.07.23).
Please note the children have put an enormous effort into producing the show and we want to ensure the focus is on celebrating their performance. Where possible, we are asking that you make other arrangements for younger siblings. Please note all classes from Year 1 and above will have had the opportunity to watch the show during the dress rehearsals.
If you would like to register interest for more tickets please speak to your child’s teacher and we will accommodate this where possible.
Thank you for understanding.
Mr Mussell & Miss Nadeem
