Homework for Autumn 2019
03 Sep 2019
Homework is important as it helps your child to practise the skills they have learnt in school. Encouraging and supporting them to complete it on time will ensure they understand everything that is being taught in lessons.
We will set Maths, Comprehension and Spellings every
Friday. This is a key part of your child’s learning and we expect it to be completed and handed in by the following
Thursday.
If your child is not sure about the homework, they can attend
Homework Club on Mondays from 12.15pm-1pm or Tuesdays from 3.30pm-4.15pm.
Please email your consent for the Tuesday after school session to
school@handsworth.waltham.sch.uk.
Maths homework is set weekly. Visit www.mymaths.co.uk and login at the top of the page using your school username and password. On the next page enter your personal username and password in the My Portal box.

Spellings
Here is a list of spellings for the
whole of the Autumn term.
Please copy out the spellings for the correct week into your spelling book three times.
- Use the ‘Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check’ method to revise them.
- Write one interesting sentence for each work to show that you understand its meaning.
- Remember to use your best handwriting and to check your spellings and punctuation.
Return your book to school on
Thursday. You will be tested each week on the words for that week
plus five words from the previous week.
