5HS at Epping Forest

12 Jul 2016

5HS had a fantastic day out at
Epping Forest Field Centre.
We started the morning in our Tribes, putting on face- paints and learning chants and dances.

We then had a great time building shelters
which had to withstand the shake test
before we were allowed to enter!

To end the morning, we played a survival game!

We were all ready for lunch!

In the afternoon, we learnt how to use compasses.
We used compasses and other clues in an
orienteering activity in which we had to work collaboratively to find our way around the forest
and back to base.

Our final fun task was to
locate places using maps.
It was much harder than we thought it would be.

Thank you to everyone who made our
learning today so much fun!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the outdoor learning experience despite the mud and scratches! I'll ask the year 5 teachers next year to book it up again!
