Rainbow maths books in bookbags

30 Jan 2017

Hi, Sorry that I didn't put a note on here before regarding the 'Rainbow Maths' books in the book bags. Each week the children are being assessed on their number bond knowledge. They are asked to write out their number bonds for 10(moving onto 20) in 2 minutes. If they do this correctly 3 times in a row they will receive a certificate. I thought you would like to see their scores and be able to see what they need to practise. They can then give them back when they hand their homework in on Thursday ready for their assessment on Friday. They don't need to write anything in their books at home. However ongoing homework is to practise writing their number bonds out for 10 preferably in order so they don't miss any. e.g. 0+10= 10  1+9= 10 etc. This can be done on a whiteboard or paper. You don't need to show me this but clearly they will improve with practise and number bond knowledge is so essential for their further learning.  Many thanks Miss Lloyd
