Mrs Giacuzzo - 04 May 2016

Cress Heads! Image result for cress heads

This week we made our very own cress heads.
We were learning to follow instructions so that later on in the week we could give instructions to someone else.

Here are the instructions for how to make your own cress head:

How to make a Cress Head.

You will need:
  • a cup
  • cress seeds
  • soil
  • pens
  • water

1)First draw a face on your cup.

 2) After that, fill your cup with soil and push the soil down with your fingers.

 3) Now sprinkle the cress seeds on top of the soil.

4) Next push the seeds under the soil with your finger.

5) Finally, water your cress head and put it somewhere that gets lots of sunlight.

Can you find the 'time connectives' I have used in my instructions?

What are 'time connectives' and why do we use them?

What else do you need in your writing when writing instructions?

First draw a face... After that... Now sprinkle... Next push the seeds... Finally... Time connectives are words or phrases which are used to tell a reader when something is happening. Joshua Medina Silva

I like cress heads and I enjoyed eating them. I enjoyed making the cress heads. My favourite part was drawing the face. I would like to grow something else in school. I would like to grow daffodils bacause they are yellow and my favourite colour is yellow! Mathilde
