Whimsical image of an owl - Literacy

In literacy we've done a variety of activities linked to the 'The whimsical image of an owl'.
We had discussions about everything on the painting of 'The whimsical image of an owl' eg. What can you see, what shapes are there on the picture, what colours did they use, where are the different images on the painting...at the top, at the bottom, at the side etc.
We also linked the painting to Science, light, dark, shadows etc.
We observed and wrote down what we could see on the painting of 'The whimsical image of an owl'.
We used describing words to write sentences.
We used onomatopoeia to describe the fireworks.
We wrote acrostic poems.
