Chembakolli Day/Action Aid
Dear Parents/Carers
On Tuesday 22
nd March, Year 4 will be having their Chembakolli (a village in Southern India) day.
The children can dress up in a traditional Indian–Style costume if they want to but this is optional.
Sarah, from
Action Aid, will be coming to school to tell the children about the work being done in Chembakolli. The children will be able to look at artefacts and objects from the village, experience carrying jars of water on their heads and find out more about the work
Action Aid do around the world. They will also be involved in various art and fair trade activities.
The cost of this workshop is £2.50 per child.
If any parents would be able to help to draw henna patterns on the day in either class, please contact the teachers.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Leftwich and Mrs Wilson
