Year 6 Residential

Hello everyone!

As promised, here is your update from our sensational second day at Stubbers Adventure Centre! 

Our day began with an extraordinary breakfast of cereal followed by a delicious egg, bacon and cheese muffin. After everyone had washed their breakfast down with a refreshing carton of fruit juice, we tidied our tables and set off on our various different adventures. 

Those who yesterday had found themselves swinging upside down from ropes, firing laser guns and leaping from poles were today paddleboarding, kayaking and building rafts. We donned our special shoes, squeezed ourselves into our wetsuits and were fastened safely into our lifejackets before rowing, splashing, balancing, steering and paddling our way to the far side of the lakes.

Following an amazing lunch of homemade sandwiches, Kit-Kats and fresh fruit, we ventured forth once more into the world of high ropes, determining to challenge ourselves, face our fears and overcome our anxieties whilst encouraging our friends to do the same whenever we could.
 
As today was our final full day, we made sure we finished in style with another famous Handsworth disco and DJ Tromans filled the dancefloor with music from bands as diverse as The Backstreet Boys, N-Sync and Hanson. MMMBop indeed!
 
After tidying our campsite, removing baby frogs to safety and cleaning our teeth, we zipped ourselves into our sleeping bags, switched off our torches and went to sleep, wishing that every day could be as wonderful as today had been for us all.
