I would like to extend my grateful thanks to Simon Jarvis who is standing down as a governor after six years’ service to Handsworth. We are all extremely appreciative of the time, skills, care and attention given to support and challenge school leaders so that our school thrives and our children have opportunities to succeed.
There are a quarter of a million school governors and trustees in England, who are working hard to support schools around many of the education issues currently in the public eye including funding pressures, stretched provision, rapid pace of change, workload burden on teachers and a mounting recruitment crisis. We are grateful to this group of volunteers and thank you Simon for your hard work over the past six years.
We will be working with Waltham Forest Governor Services to fill the Co-opted Governor vacancy and will update you with further information as soon as we are able.
