Science - Loughton Astronomical Society Event
Miss Jordaan - 23 Jan 2017
Message from Brian at Astrokyds
Great to see some of the AstroKyds last night.
(21 January 2017)
Good views of Venus and Mars, Orion, M42, NGC1981, Hyades, Pleiades.
Some of you got your own telescopes going, hopefully the start of some great observing.
Feel free to email to ask any questions. See http://las-astro.org.uk/
for more detail
Calendar:
Remember to look out for the conjunction of Mars, Venus and a new crescent moon on 31st January
There is another Public Observing on Sunday 5th Feb, same place and timings.
See
http://www.handsworthprimary.org.uk/MAP.aspx?pid=Science_en-GB&aid=ny_190659467_85758911 for more details.
Next AstroKyds is 10th Feb
“Nebulae and Stellar Nurseries”.
There is a penumbral lunar eclipse after AstroKyds, overnight 10th – 11th Feb. The full moon will only go a little bit darker, not a “blood” moon
