Miss Jordaan - 22 Jun 2016
On Saturday 18th June 2016
TIM PEAKE and his crew
RETURNED TO EARTH
KS2 had an assembly to celebrate
Tim Peake’s safe return to Earth.
We firstly had a look at his last interview in Space.

We had a discussion about how he might have been feeling at that moment. What clues did we have?
After this we watched the clip about their descent down to Earth and their safe landing back onEarth.

We told our partners how we felt about watching this successful landing.
Most of us were very excited about his safe return.
HOWEVER
We were very shocked when we watched the video about Martin Rees who said that humans should not be sent into Space anymore!

In our own classes we are going to have a P4C session about this latest statement.
‘Stop sending humans into space’ – Top astronomer said. Martin Rees, the Astronomer Royal, told Sky News the European Space Agency (ESA) should stop sending humans into space and devote its budget to robotic missions instead.
Discuss. Why did he say this? Do you agree? Pros and Cons? What can we do instead? Is there a cheaper alternative? Who else agrees with Martin Rees? Any other thoughts?
Our P4C responses to follow soon....
