P4C question....Should we have three day weekends??

This week in Literacy we have been learning how to structure a good argument. We have used PEEL (Point, Explain, Example, Link) to help us with this.

During one of the lessons a question was asked about whether we should have three day weekends in England and why? This provoked a fantastic debate.....

What is your opinion?

Should we have three day weekends?

Would it be a good idea?

Make sure you explain your answer using the PEEL method.

Yes because if your mum had lots of housework and she couldn't get it done in two days, you would have an extra day and it would not be so stressful for her and that's why I think yes. That was a fun lesson, thank you Mr Tromans.

You should have a three day weekend because you can have more fun and spend more time with your family. Phoeve

You should have a three day weekend because if you have a party on Sunday you will have a late night and then on Monday you can have an extra day to relax. This means you are ready for school the next day and that is why I think we should have a three day weekend. Isabella

No because if you have three day weekends we will have too many days off of school, which means you will not be ready to work. If you have three day weekends you will not do your work properly and efficiently. Lola-Rose

Yes and no . Yes because you get to spend more time with family and friends. And no because it's important to go to school and learn. That is why I think we should and shouldn't have a three day weekend. Bailey

I think yes, because it gives us more time to do our homework and gives us more happy time with our friends. Then I would work harder at school because I would not be so tired. Frank
