Our Senses part 2!

02 Nov 2015

The children have had a busy start to the term. As you know we have been busy looking at our 'senses' linked to our theme 'Ourselves'. We had various experiments using our 5 senses and the children  used lots of intersting words to describe textures such as soft, hard, rough, prickly and what they could taste such as tangy, sweet, sour, salty etc. Here is a quick look at the children exploring the rest of their senses.

 Oranges.

Cheese and Onion crsips

Vinegar!!

 Salty and Sweet

Oh dear!! George is not happy with that taste....

Of course no tasting experiment would be complete without LEMON (we're not usually that mean)! Here our some of the reactions tasting lemon....

Love it!

Oh dear Mayah...

Sorry George....clearly that was not a great day for George!

Finally, we used lots of different things to explain textures. Here are some of the pictures....

What does it feel like Nathanael? What do you think it is?

Prickly Pineapple

Cold and wet ice.

Rough coconut.

Hard stones.

Wet/damp cloth.

Rough and slippery sand.

Soft cotton wool.
