Phonics in Nursery

We have started to learn phonics in Nursery!
We will learn all of the letters of the alphabet. We will be learning 2 sounds a week.
This is the order we will be learning them.

Letter-sound pictures are used to help children learn these sounds quickly.
We use pure sounds so that children will be able to blend the sounds into words more easily later on
( this is something they will be doing a lot more of in Reception).

We never use letter names at this early stage
