Malcolm Doolin Special Award for Sporting Primary School 2019

Handsworth won a very special award at yesterday's Waltham Forest Sports Award which took place at Walthamstow Town Hall. Ex students from last year's highly successful Sitting Volleyball Team attended the event with Mr Tromans, Mr Mussell and Mrs McDermott. The team were nominated for U11 Team of the Year and were shorltisted with two other teams. Another incredible achievement for this outstanding team.
We were then pleasantly surprised when our school was named as the Sporting Primary School of 2019. This goes to a school that consistently attends competitions and events and achieves highly in them, not only at borough level but at London School Games level as well. It also recognises the inclusivity and opportunity that the school consistently provides and the impact that has on the health and wellbeing of its children.
This is an award we should all be very proud of and I'd like to thank all of the staff, parents and children that have been involved over the years in making this possible.
