Waltham Forest School Games - Hockey champions
05 Mar 2018
Handsworth returned from the Waltham Forest Hockey competition as winners for the second year in a row. We will now represent the borough in the London Youth Games later in March.
Both our teams qualified from difficult groups to make the last 16 from 37 teams! One of our teams were knocked out at this stage while the other team negotiated a difficult quarter final against Edinburgh before advancing to the final where they were crowned champions.
Our players were also fortunate enough to meet International hockey player Emily Defroand. She signed hockey sticks for our players, watched them perform all afternoon and finally handed out the gold medals to our winning team.
