Friends of Handsworth - Summer Picnic Saturday 29th June

24 Jun 2024

Dear all,

Quick reminder that our Summer Picnic is this Saturday 29th June from 11:00 to 17:00. The weather is looking great and we are looking forward to seeing you. Please bring your own camping chairs and camping blankets. There will be some seating provided but if you can bring your own that would be great.

Raffle prizes

We are still looking for more raffle prizes, please if you can donate anything towards our raffle that would be much appreciated. Any donations should be left at the school office.

Raffle tickets are going to be handed over to the children today, Thursday 27th June.

Cakes donations

Cake donations can be dropped off on the day of the Summer Picnic from 10:30am. All cakes need to be labelled and no nuts please.

Stalls that we are still struggling to fill with donations and volunteers

Second hand toys and books

We have not received as many donations towards our second hand books and toys stall yet. If you have any spare/unwanted and good quality books and toys, please consider donating it to our stall. There is a trolley by the school office waiting for donations.

Face Painting

We haven’t had any face painting volunteers and if we do not get fully covered by Thursday 27th this stall will unfortunately not go ahead.

BBQ

The BBQ and Bar stall is one of the busiest ones and we only had one person volunteering to help so far. I would strongly advise parents/carers to sign up to as many stalls as possible so you can also enjoy the fete rather than have to help whilst others are having fun.

Inflatables

Inflatables are similar to the BBQ stall, very busy and it needs constant cover to keep the children safe.

Summer activities

Don’t forget to book your family activities for the Summer Picnic. 7.5 metre climbing wall suitable for children over 6 years old and adults., Inflatables and Colour run wristbands and tickets can be booked by using our pta-events website. Advanced tickets are cheaper than on the day of the event.  We strongly recommend early booking to avoid any disappointment.

Summer Picnic setting up

For those of you that are planning to help setting the Summer Picnic, please arrive by the gates via Beverly Road, E4 9PL from 8am.  We need at least 10 people to help with the usual gazebos, tables, chairs, sorting second toys, signs etc.

Note: Only beverages purchased at our bar can be consumed at the fete, our temporary alcohol licence does not allow attendees to bring their own alcoholic drinks. Bags or rucksacks may be searched at the entrance gate.

Thank you,

Friends of Handsworth
