Nursery Assistant Required September 2019
Fixed term contract to 31 August 2020 (with potential to extend, if required by the school)
Scale 3 point 5 – 6 £21,591 – £21,981 per annum (Actual pro-rata £17,046 - £17,354)
32.5 hours per week x 45.6 weeks (part-time/job share considered)
Handsworth Primary School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and creative Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will primarily support children’s learning and social welfare needs in our nursery setting. We provide a very high standard of care and education for all children and follow the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Good communication skills and empathy with children are essential. Applicants must be willing to deal with a wide range of additional needs and be able to show patience, resilience and flexibility to respond to the varying demands of the school day.
Good Numeracy and Literacy skills are essential. It is essential that applicants hold an Early Years Practitioner Level 3, NVQ Level 3 certificate for Teaching Assistants or have equivalent qualifications.
You should:
- Be an excellent practitioner with high expectations of all pupils
- Have experience of working 1:1 to support specific needs
- Be an innovative team player who is positive and proactive with good interpersonal skills
