Safer Internet Day!

23 Jan 2017

Be the change: Unite for a better internet

Do you know what your child is doing online?

The most common online activities carried out by children today are looking at social media, playing games and downloading media (films, music and video clips).

We don’t want to stop children taking part in these activities. We want them to think about doing them safely. We want them to ask themselves:

Should I post this information?
Should I say that comment?
Should I download this song?

We are one of hundreds of organisations who want to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

On Tuesday 7th February, we are celebrating Safer Internet Day by hosting an Online Safety Information session for parents and carers of children in every year group, two pupil assemblies (one geared towards KS1 and the other towards KS2) and a staff training session.

The sessions aim to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community.

We hope that the three combined will help keep our children safe online.

Our message is: don’t stop going online, just do it safely!

We hope you will join us.
