Homework for the Spring Term
05 Jan 2023
Spring Term Homework
Homework is important as it helps your child to practise the skills they have learnt in school. Encouraging and supporting them to complete it on time will ensure they understand everything that is being taught in lessons.
We will set Maths, Comprehension and Spellings every
Friday. This is a key part of your child’s learning and we expect it to be completed and handed in by the following
Thursday. Please speak to us if you would like further opportunities to
extend learning with mini projects and extension activities.
If your child is not sure about the homework please encourage them to speak to their teacher before Thursday. We are more than happy to help with homework during school, but hand in day is too late.
Maths homework is set weekly. Visit
www.mymaths.co.uk and login at the top of the page using your school username and password. On the next page enter your personal username and password in the My Portal box. If you have forgotten your password or username please see you teacher.
Tips for accessing MyMaths
- Add www.mymaths.co.uk to your list of trusted sites.
- Allow Pop Ups.
- Activate Flash in your browser.
- To access MyMaths on an iOS or Android tablet, download the free Puffin Academy app.
Comprehension homework is also set weekly through our school website. We will upload the work, questions and answers on one web page. Please check through and mark your own work, then upload it to the school website - in the same way you did during home learning.
Reading
Children should read out loud to an adult for an average of ten minutes
every day.
Spellings
Here is a list of spellings for the
whole of the Spring term 2023.
- Write each word three times in your book using a pen or pencil (using the ‘Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check’ method to revise them).
- Look up the meaning of each word – can you write down another word that uses the same sounds?
Bring your book to school each
Thursday ready for your spelling challenge.
