Year 5 - Mr Dawes Home Learning

For the last three days of term, we have sourced a number of activities for you, but remember that you can also make your own Christmas crackers, bake some Christmas cookies or mince pies and sing our Christmas song!

Please note that we do not expect everything to be completed!

Suggested timetable for learning

Morning:

• PE: Choose a dance or workout routine to complete each day.
• Maths: Choose one of the 'flashback' worksheets to access problems on all the learning we have covered in the Autumn term. You do not need to submit your work as we will go over the answers in January.

  • Flashback to addition and subtraction  
  • Flashback to statistics 
  • Flashback to multiplying and dividing  
• English: Choose a grammar activity to develop your skills.
  • ​Proof-reading
  • Spelling rules
  • Modal verbs
• Comprehension: Choose a Viper question to answer.
• Current affairs: Watch newsround and discuss how it makes you feel with an adult.

Choose one of these activities to complete each afternoon:

• Science: this selection of videos, quizzes and games will help your understanding of the skills needed to perform scientific investigations.
• Geography: explore longitude and latitude.
• Times Table Rock Stars (30 minutes)
• Touch typing (30 minutes)
• Spanish (30 minutes)
• Chess (30 minutes)
