Art
10 Dec 2020
Hello everyone,
Unfortunately, we are going to have to postpone making our embroidered tree decorations in a Mexican style till the Spring term. They will be ready for next Christmas though!
Instead, this week, we are going to look at an Art project related to our learning in English and The Boy at the Back of the Class.
Read this quote:
"I thought about the new boy and felt sorry for him. Maybe he had been forced to leave behind lots of thing that he loved most in the world, and that's why he didn't talk to anyone and needed so much Seclusion. I tried to think of what I would leave behind if I had to run away from lots of bullies, but I couldn't decide. All I know is that I could never leave my dad's record player behind - or his favourite hammer, which is still in the botton kitchen drawer."
If you had to leave your home forever, what would you take with you?
- Walk around and make a list of your belongings and then decide what is most important to you. Remember that everything you take would need to fit inside your school bag...
- Use a digital camera or a smart phone to photograph objects that are important to you. You can also photograph members of your family. This video tutorial from the BBC might help you to frame your images.
- Once you have taken your photos, upload them to your laptop and arrange them in a collage on word, powerpoint or another program.
- If you have a printer, print them out and make an interesting collage.
Your extension: tell us how easy or difficult it was to choose items - were there items that you wanted to include but didn't have the space for? How did you choose?
I can't wait to see the result!
Good luck!
