In Science we are learning about
Rocks and Soils
Rocks found on the Earth's surface come from inside the Earth - they tell us a lot about the Earth's interior.
There are three main groups: igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks.
We had a look at a variety of rock samples. We wrote down the features of these rocks. We compared them with each other. We were amazed by the variety of features in these rocks.
After this we went on a Rock Hunt in the playground.
We found quite a lot of examples where rock was used in the playground.
Some children brought in examples of rock for
Show and Tell.
