Computing: finding our more about HTML

11 Jan 2016

If you want to get a head start on next week's lesson, have another go at the task from today's lesson. Remember to check with an adult first about installing new software on your computer.

1.Reveal the code behind websites with X-Ray Goggles:

X-ray Goggles is a tool from Mozilla that lets you see the HTML code behind any web page, and then lets you remix it. You can swap in your own text or pictures to change the appearance of the website.

Go to http://goggles.webmaker.org and follow the directions to install X-ray Goggles then have a go at one of the following websites:

•  Describe a bizarre fashion trend in Vogue magazine: http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/trends
•  Cast your favourite actors in a dream movie: http://www.imdb.com/
•  Change the weather forecast for your area to suit you: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/
•  Create a strange recipe that Mary Berry would never make: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/chefs/mary_berry

Remember to take a screen grab of your website to show the class - you can email it to the office with the subject heading 'Year 6 Computing work'.
