What is luck - P4C in 3RT

25 Nov 2014

3RT had a thoughtful discussion about what luck is.  The class came up with their own immediate response and then after some discussion, produced a further response.

After we had written our thoughts, we played a game and decided whether the winners were lucky or had used any skill.  Elise and Mr Tromans were the 'lucky' winners!

We also looked at a story about luck and spoke about what good luck and bad luck are.  Was there a difference between them?   How do you know the difference?

I think there was an element of luck in the victory, there seems to be a lack of skill in the Tottenham team at the moment. :-(

I think there is a difference between good and bad luck. If your cat catches a mouse it is good luck for the cat but bad luck for the mouse! From Emily

Looks like a fun lesson - it's good luck you have such great performers in your class!

I know the difference between GOOD luck and BAD luck. If you were to find a £50 note on the pavement by TESCO it would be GOOD luck for you, but BAD luck for whoever dropped it!! From Oscar.

It was really fun to learn about good and bad luck. I liked most writing the notes because we learn to share ideas. From Martin
