Year 1 Homework 2026/27
06 Oct 2026
Dear Year 1 Families,
We would like to inform you of the
Year 1 homework schedule for the rest of the academic year.
We have planned to gradually introduce the following homework tasks to build on students confidence as they progress throughout the year. Our main priority is to not overwhelm students and families by implementing tasks all at once, hence why the schedule is gradual.
Autumn 1 term:
Reading homework has commenced for the year (phonics book and free choice book).
Autumn 2 term:
Spelling homework commences (teachers will send this home with a letter explaining the spelling process).
Spring 1 term:
Maths homework commences (log in codes will be provided.)
If you wish to commence any additional practise at home sooner than these dates, feel free to. However, we don't expect this.
If you have any questions please contact your classroom teacher.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Kind regards,
Year 1 Teachers
