3RT meanings of our names

05 Feb 2014

Having learnt about symbols and meanings in R.E this term, the children of 3RT were set a task to research the meaning of their names.  The responses were fantastic and children presented their findings through power points, pictures, family documents and a beautiful book produced at home.  We got to hear about lots, including first names, middle names, family names and their origin as well as their meaning or reasons for choice.

Here are some pictures and a couple of short videos from the presentations.

Omari begins his presentation.

Annabel shows us her lovely book, including pictures, meanings and origins of her name.

Boris included other famous people named Boris.  Can you spot any?  Can you name any others?

Jasmine shows pictures of the flower she is named after.

Krishan led the way with a power point including all of his 4 names.

Nadeem had lots of information about his name meaning 'companion'.

Callum read wonderfully and told us about the many different variations of his name meaning 'a dove'.

Omari explains the meaning of his surname.

Zara tells us the origin of her name.
