3RT Sun and Shadows

03 Jul 2014

We have been learning about the sun and shadows in Science this term.  The class have been carrying out an experiment, finding out if our shadows move and if their size changes.

What did you find out?  Why do you think this is?

Who do you think the shadows are of in the last picture?

In the morning at 7 A.M my shadow was 2.5 m however at the weekend measured it exactly on midday and it was about 60 cm. Boris

Excellent investigating Boris. Wow, that is a huge difference. Why do you think this is?

I think it's longer at morning because the sun shines sideways onto you so it's longer. I think it's shorter at midday because the sun shines right above you so it'll be shorter. Boris
