Trip to The National Theatre

Year 3 had a tremendous trip to The National Theatre last Thursday to see a new play by Nicky Singer, called 'Island'. The story had many of the same themes as the book 'Ice Palace' (the book we were studying before half term), with a snowy setting, a boy with a quest, an owl and an old woman who helped him on his journey.
Many of the children remarked that it was "the best trip we've ever had" ~ so that's great!

We had a great (and free) journey to the theatre on public transport ~ by overground from Highams Park and on the tube from Liverpool Street to Embankment. We crossed the Hungerford Bridge in brilliant sunshine and were lucky enough to be able to eat our packed lunches outside on the SouthBank enjoying an early spring day!
Many members of the public commented on how well-behaved the children were, so well done Year 3!
