Final Purple Mash project

17 Jul 2013

Final Purple Mash project:

Well we are coming to the end of the school year and this is the final Purple Mash project. I have been extremely impressed with your work so far Year 2! You are all so clever, creative and very talented. I am very proud of you all!

Your final project is a maths game all about:

First:
 1) Log in to ‘purple mash’ by clicking on the image below:

2) Once you have logged in, click on the 'Games' tab at the top of the page.

4) Click on the icon called  'fraction wall'

Type your name into the box.

To play the game:

Use the arrow keys on your computer to position the fractions to make 1 whole bar. When one whole bar has been made it will disappear and you will get 1 point (for those of you who have played it before it is very similar to TETRIS). If you do not position the fraction bars correctly then there will be gaps in the line. If there is a gap in the line it will not disappear and your wall will start to get taller and taller. When the wall reaches the top of the screen the game is over.

The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible before the game is over. The better you get, the higher the level. As the level gets higher, the fractions get smaller.

This is voluntary homework so feel free to do as little or as much as you are comfortable with.

Let me know how you get on with this.
