Purple mash 'Scientists' project

03 Jul 2013

Purple mash 'Scientists' project:

I really enjoyed playing the games you created on purple mash over the last fortnight. I was very impressed with the way you all explored different techniques. The games are fantastic and they will be on there for you to play again and again. See if you can beat your own score or have a go of someone else's game to see if you can beat their score. Well done Year 2!

Scientists:

Following our trip the the Science Museum on Friday, the homework this week will be Science related. This week I challenge you to add your face to the scientists body (template already there) and give a recount of things you learnt and enjoyed while on our trip. Include any special memories you have of the trip.

First:
 1) Log in to ‘purple mash’ by clicking on the image below:

2) Once you have logged in, click on 'Purple mashcams'.

3) Scroll down and click on the icon that says 'Scientist' and has a picture of a scientist wearing goggles.

4) Click on the blue icon with a smiley face, at the top of the screen, to take your photo (you will need either a webcam or a camera built in to your laptop - if you don't have one please see me as we do have some in school).

Once you have taken your photo you can make it bigger or smaller by clicking on the + and - which appear and you can rotate the picture using the arrows.

5) Now you can write your recount of the Science Museum Trip in the speech bubble.

6) When you have finished you cannot save this piece of work. This is a real shame but you can export the work by clicking on the 'disc' icon at the top of the page. Then you can save it to your computer or onto a memory stick if you would like to bring it in to show the class. You could also print it out and bring it in.

Don't worry if you cannot print or save the work. Show someone at home the wonderful work you have done and tell me all about it when you come to school.

This is voluntary homework so feel free to do as little or as much as you are comfortable with.

I can't wait to see or hear all about them! :)
