Debate about recycling.

12 Oct 2012

Debate

This week we had to persuade Miss Dale to recycle her yoghurt pot rather than throw it on the floor. First we spoke to our partner about why recycling is good. Then we had to persuade Miss Dale, who wasn't so sure. We did something called 'conscience alley' which is where we, the children, lined up with half the class on one side and half on the other to create an alleyway. Miss Dale had to walk down the alley and as she passed us we shouted our opinion at her, along with a reason. When she reached the end of the alley she had to make up her mind as to what she was going to do. Do you think we were persuasive enough?

After that some of us wrote a letter to try to convince Miss Dale further. They were fantastic so come and see them if you can! Others wrote emails, some recorded their message and some drew the 'conscience alley' from earlier and recorded their message in a speech bubble (see below). All of the work was absolutely great! Well done Year 2!
