Year 6 : 7-a-side tournament

01 May 2012

YEAR 6 : 7-a-side TOURNAMENT

The team was Charlie, Dylan, Ronan, Connor, Hakan, Jack, Billy, Ryan and Zane. The goal scorers were Dylan who scored 2, Connor, Billy, Charlie and Zane.
When everyone was at the tournament the games began. For our first game we won 1:0 and for the goal Connor set up Zane who scored a fantastic goal. Our second game was against Greenleaf. We unfortunately lost 1:0 although we tried our hardest. The third game we needed a draw or a win to go through to the semi finals so we made sure our defence was rock solid. Luckily we drew 1:1 and Dylan scored a great goal.
In the semi-finals we played the winners of the other group. We played and in two minutes they had scored but from centre Charlie ran up the pitch and scored a well deserved goal!  It went to extra time but both teams defence was good so it went to penalties. Connor, Billy, Dylan and Jack were chosen to take the penalties. There was loads of pressure. The other team went first and they scored then Billy walked up and scored a magnificent goal. Then the other team scored another penalty. Next Connor walked up slowly to the ball and with great power scored a brilliant goal. The other team then scored so it was Dylan’s turn. He stood over the ball and shot and scored. It was superb. The next penalty was precious because it was sudden death but unfortunately we missed the penalty just like Lionel Messi did this week.
Because we lost we had to play the losers of the other game to decide third and fourth but we lost 1:0. So we came fourth but we still got a bronze medal.
