Science investigation-new bits added!

03 Feb 2013

?"

We drew around our hands and measured their spans. Then we presented our hands as a pictogram so we could see who had the smallest and largest handspans. After that we showed this information as a tally chart and a block graph.

Some of us came up with our own questions for an investigation based on the results we had from our handspan results. The one above was.."If I curl up in the smallest ball in the class will I have the smallest handspan?" (Kevin)

Another investigation was.."If I have the biggest handspan will I have the biggest foot length?"  (Kaitlin)

We decided on our units of measure and what equipment to use. After trying out measuring with a metre stick,we changed to  using a tape measure! ( Casey came up with this change of equipment! Well done !)

After we had recorded our results we talked together about what we could deduce from them. We also discussed if our investigations had been fair and if not why not?
