Here's the line-up for the FOH Comedy Night this Saturday!

02 Nov 2021

Dear parents and carers

A warm welcome back after the half-term. We hope you had a great week!

A quick reminder that Friends of Handsworth (FOH) is hosting its first in-person event this Saturday, the 6th November in the school hall, and it’s going to be a good one!

This Saturday is our annual Comedy Club Night and FOH is delighted to welcome three top notch comedians who have ALL featured on national TV and radio. Food and drinks will also, of course, be available.

The line-up is:
  • JOSH HOWIE: Writer and star of two series of the acclaimed BBC Radio 4 sitcom 'Josh Howie's Losing It', nominated for a BBC Radio Award, and recently played one of the leads in an upcoming six-part TV sitcom 'Hapless' for Channel 5. “Howie is a name to watch” says The Times. “With such wit and succession of one-liners, it is impossible not to be impressed.
    ★★★★” says the Sunday Express.

  • MARK MAIER: Talented award-winning writer and stand-up, Mark Maier, is an established and highly sought-after performer on both the national and international comedy circuits.
He has worked the comedy clubs of Germany, Holland, Ireland, Hong Kong, The Bahamas, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Mark has also appeared in Harry Hill The Movie and in various cameo roles in the series Harry Hill’s TEA-TIME. Amongst his many credits, Mark has taught and performed improvisation with Catherine Tate in London and has had a string of successful radio series, in which he was both writer and performer.

  • QUINCY: As seen in Sky One series 'In the Long Run'; Writer of the Windrush Stories courtesy of Floella Benjamin; Radio Presenter Five days week on Supreme FM; Presenter & ex producer of his online Friday Entertainment show Extra Time Comedy Central, 'Comedy Blue'.

  • The night is hosted by Joseph Wilson: "Really enjoyed watching Joseph. The writing is first rate" says Darrell Hammond, Saturday Night Live; As seen and heard on BBC Radio 4 'People Watch', ITV's 'Arthur Smith's Comedy Club and a frequent guest on comedy shows for talkSport, talkRadio and Absolute Radio.
So, grab your friends, grab a ticket and join us for an evening of big laughs, small bites and appropriately sized drinks! And most importantly, remember that all proceeds raised go directly towards enriching our children’s experience at Handsworth Primary School 😊.

All are welcome!
