Online Safety: resources

Thank you to all the parents who joined us for yesterday morning’s session run by Sue of the London Connected Learning Centre.

Her colleague, Joe, ran assemblies in the afternoon for KS1 and KS2 as well as a staff training session at the end of the school day.

Hopefully you have some ideas on how to start the ‘be safe on the internet’ conversation with your children!

Making youtube safe for childrenRemember, the safety mode is at the bottom of the youtube page.
 
The ThinkUKnow website has cartoons and games to start your conversation.
 
Common Sense Media is a great site for checking apps and games for suitability.
 
The Internet Matters shows you how to find the safety settings and set parental controls on various sites.
 
The NSPCC has a section with advice for keeping children safe online.
 
Childline's ZIP IT app offers children useful comebacks and tips to help them stay in control of their chat.
 
CEOP where you can report ANY concerns you have.
 
Action Fraud allows you to report scams and fraud
 
The NSPCC Share Aware has clips  for you to share with your children - you decide if it's right for your family.
 
The University of Middlesex conducted some research for the NSPCC.

Let's be the change and unite for a better internet!
