Easter

In RE we have been learning about Easter.  Easter or Pascha is a Christian festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion at Calvary as described in the New Testament



We also had a look at other familiar favourites during Easter Time.

 

The precise origin of the ancient custom of decorating eggs is not known, although evidently the blooming of many flowers in spring coincides with the use of the symbol of eggs

The Easter Bunny or Easter Rabbit is a character depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs, who sometimes is depicted with clothes.

 

Throughout the centuries the Daffodil gained it's fame in many different countries and cultures. Easter being the celebration of rebirth, and the return of spring by many cultures, had initiated the flower to be associated with it's early spring bloom.
