Welcome back and we hope that you all had a super half term break.

Well, we are overwhelmed with the Indian Projects that are coming in. They are amazing and we really do appreciate the hard work and effort that you have all put into them this term.
Here is a summary of what is coming up this half term:

In English we will be working on poetry, based on the Indian stories we have been enjoying so far.  The grammar focus will be linking paragraphs, using descriptive phrases and using different ways to start sentences. We will also continue to work on our comprehension, including inference skills and scanning for specific information.

For Maths, we are starting to use Rainbow maths to consolidate our times tables and division skills. See Spring 2 Overview For all the aspects of Maths we will be covering for the rest of this term, please see the Spring 2 Maths overview on both Year 4 webpages.

In Science we will be completing our living in environments topic which will include a visit to Highams Park Lake and we are looking forward to Science Week - 14-18 March.

In RE we will be looking at the importance of Easter for Christians.
In Art, the children will be working with Ms Blackborow on Indian printing skills.

We are completing our Geography topic on Chembakolli and will be enjoying a visit from Actionaid at the end of term.

Homework:
As last term:
Maths homework and times tables will be sent home on Fridays to be returned by the following Thursday.
Spellings will be set weekly and tested a week later.
Reading Books as previous terms.

We are looking forward to sharing your child’s progress on parents’ evening on 15th and 16th of March.

Best wishes for another fantastic half term.
