Home Reading Homework

06 Sep 2013

Home reading book will be issued on Monday (9th September)

Reading colours will remain the same until assessments are completed - due to take place before half term. Children are encouraged to read a range of books and will be able to borrow books from the school library from next week.

Here are the days you need to bring in your reading books and diaries:

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Spike Vinnie Shannon Guy Dervis
Fionn Isabel Mya Kayin Janice
Dylan Katie Henry Anna Waqas
Liedson Joe Daniel Ella William
Pele Lily Olivia Zahra Ahmed
Hogan Xanthe Elinor Ethan Gabriel

Please make sure you bring in your Home School Diary signed by a parent / caregiver on the correct day (along with your reading book).

*If you have not finished your book it is O.K. - just write down the page number that you are up to.

*If you finish your book before your day, you can bring it in (with your Diary) on any day and you can change it.

Here are some question starters for adults to ask during/after each reading session. They are derived from Bloom's Taxonomy (of thinking skills) and aim to fine tune comprehension skills.
Questions from the top order are the simplest (literal) questions. As you move down questions become more inferential and therefore require higher order thinking.
