Onomatopoeia poem by 3JP
13 Feb 2013
AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY WE CAN HEAR:
ringing of the bell as it sends the children out
rustling of the coat when they bump against each other
thumping of feet as children are running
the squeaking of the door as the children rush out
chitter-chatter of the parents as they are waiting for their children
sound of the birds fluttering while the children are chasing them
the shouting of the children as they see their parents
shrieking of the children showing their excitement at the end of the day
thumping of children running to drama
barking of the dogs as children are running by
swishing of the cold air as it breezes in my face
whistling of the cold air
clanging of the chairs as we tuck them in
chattering of the children as they get their bags
flapping of the book bags as we fling them over our shoulders
zipping of the zips as we wrap up in our coats
gasping of the parents as they see their darlings
excitement of the children when they see their parents
laughter of the children as they plan their afternoon activities
craziness of the dogs barking as children are flocking by
shouting of the children as the excitement grows
