Science: Magnets & Springs

16 Feb 2012

Autumn Term: In Science we investigated the strength of magnets. We used different types/sizes of magnets eg. horse shoe, bar, circular and we tested the most amount of paperclips each magnet could pick up. Do you remember what had to be the same to ensure that it was a fair test? Some of us predicted that the horseshoe magnet would pick up the most paperclips because it was the biggest! However, in the end most of us not only discovered that the bar magnet had the strongest magnetic strength because it attracted the most amount of paperclips but we also realised that size does not matter!
