Literacy:
This week we have been doing lots of role-play. We have been re-telling the story of ‘Lila and the Secret of Rain’. The children have been learning about scripts. They have learnt that each script needs a list of characters, a title and different scenes. They have learnt how to write a script e.g:
Lila: Why won’t it rain today?
Grandad: (whilst pointing at the sky) You need to tell the sky the saddest thing you can think of.
Cow: (lift head off the ground) Mooooooooo!

Numeracy:
This week we have been learning to measure the capacity of different containers using other containers with known capacity. We have been measuring in litres and millilitres. We have also been using this knowledge to solve problems.

Art:
This week we have been learning how to paint, using water colours. We painted a scene from ‘Lila and the Secret of Rain’. If you have any water paints at home, have a go at painting something else using the skills you learnt this week.
Music:
This week we have been learning to keep a steady beat. Use everyday appliances such as saucepans, table tops, spoons etc to try and keep a steady beat at home. Once you have a steady beat try and add another element e.g. stamping your foot at the same time.
