Homework

A huge 'WELL DONE!' to everyone who wrote a postcard on purplemash last week. They were absolutely fantastic!

This week:

Science:
Following our trip to Highams Park Lake on Friday there are two options for your homework project this week.

Option 1 – To draw a bug from Highams Park Lake or design a new type of bug using the bug outline on ‘purplemash’.

Option 2 – To write about the bugs found at Highams Park Lake and talk about their habitat.(see activity on ‘purplemash’).

You may complete 1 or both. It is entirely up to you!

To access the homework:
Log in to ‘purplemash’ by clicking on the image below:

Once you have logged on go to ‘Online Docs’.

Click on the yellow folder on the right which is named ‘2CD homework’,

Click on the yellow sub-folder named ‘bugs’.

There are two template folders here called ‘bug template’ and ‘habitat template’.
Choose the one you’d like to do and double click on it to open.

Once finished please save your work in the same place (2CD HOMEWORK – BUGS) but please change the name of the file to your childs name so that the template is still there for others to access!

I can’t wait to see them!! :)

Literacy:

This week we have been doing some role play and creative writing based around summer holidays. We have given recounts of holidays, written pop-up books about ‘Sunny’s’ holidays, created adverts for certain holiday destinations, written leaflets and newsletters persuading others to visit our favourite country, role played the process of booking a holiday, taken pictures of ourselves as pilots, planned a trip around the world, chosen what to put in our luggage, created a menu for the plane, designed ‘keep safe in the sun’ posters, created weather maps and written leaflets to describe the main attractions in different holiday destinations.
Log in to ‘purplemash’ to see some of our work.

For some of this work we focused on persuasive writing. Try the following websites to develop your skills in persuasive writing.
